Today is my Friday, so here's an earlier-than-usual blog post. One thing that's been on the radar this week has been a great talk from Johanna Blakley on TED about the old demographics vs 'taste communities', and, er, the life and death of the chick flick. Watch it, you'll get the picture.

We're still on the hunt for a new blogger of the month. I'm loathe to re-crown* someone who's had it recently, so pull your fingers out everyone! You're all experts on some aspect of L&D I'm sure. Even if you're not, you no doubt have plenty of personal testimony and experience under your belt, and the community would like to hear about it. If you have been regularly posting and not had your good work recognised please get in touch and air your grievances.

So, who treated themselves to a new smartphone or tablet this Christmas? Well you're very lucky people. recent research shows that the TZ membership is increasingly accessing the site from mobile devices; we're responding to this by making our content across the portfolio more mobile friendly and always looking for new ways of improving navigation.
