Can anyone tell me what the demand is for the ECDL qualification. Who have you found is interested in this qualification? Do employer recognise it? Where in London can I train to become an ECDL Certified Professional?

  1. ECDL is fast growing and is becoming the qualification that sets
A published article revealed that in April 2000 there were 40,000 registrations for ECDL. The following year (2001) there was a massive increase of 140,000 registrations and the number continues to rise. This demand is reflected across almost every sectors including training for teachers, local council workers, colleges, the NHS etc.

ECDL is a European wide recognised qualification for employers across the board as it helps to provide proof of competency in basic computer skills for workers. A recent British Computer Society meeting, revealed that this qualification is set to become the standard qualification for office workers.

For those interested in becoming certified professionals, the ECDL tutors course will prepare you for teaching/training the course. Further information is available from the BCS site at http://www.bcs.org.uk/ecdl. The following site will provide details on training for professionals and a list of centres

  2. IC3
Does anyone know about the new IC3 standard? I’ve heard that it’s going to overtake ECDL as a global qualification, as it has a closer relationship with the workplace.
