I am looking for providers who run European Computer Driving Licence courses as Distance learning. I would like to hear from anyone who would recommend the package they have used, and what you felt were the good and bad points. Thanks for your help.

Providers of ECDL
Our company provide ECDL via distance learning. The product is delivered entirely over the Internet, until the point of assessment – this then has to be arranged to be conducted at our premises or one of our associate organisations. Up until now we have had no bad reports from users of the product. I can let you have further details if you wish.
Northumberland College
Northumberland College are accredited by the British Computer Society to run distance learning for ECDL and again this is an on-line course. The web site is http://www.northland.ac.uk/ecdl.htm
I wish I’d heard of them before I signed up at my local college – incidentally I’ved used the NetG CBT at this college – it doesn’t seem to be too popular with this group though this might be group specific rather than something wrong with the product. I’ve put my 13 year old on some text based material – he got too click happy and didn’t retain what he should have!!!
ECDL software
we can provide you with demo of Vizion Factory.
Recently introduced to the Uk, we can give European references. Focuses on practical exercises that cover the syllabus. Exercise text has optional links to multimedia training topics – good for a mix of experience. Full pre-assessment and mock ECDL test. Also includes free pop-up minitutorial for access at any time for instant reminder of how-to.
