I am an expat in Australia heavily involved in elearning and am moving back to the UK very soon. As an advocate of elearning I would like to know which elearning authoring tools are popular in the UK? We use Articulate Storyline and Captivate here, are they popular in the UK? If not, can you pls tell me which packages are so that I can upskill myself on them?
Thanks very much,
Celia

Hi Jane,
Thanks for replying. I can't access your list here as the link won't work so could you tell me which are the top 2 most popular authoring tools there in the UK pls?
Celia
Two most popular
Hi.
In my experience, you already named the two most popular, Storyline and Captivate. We deliver training on both!
I came back from Oz after 7 years in April 2013 for family reasons.
Good luck and feel free to contact me if you want to look at developing your skills. http://www.tap.trainingcom

Elearning & migration
Hi Adrian,
Good to meet someone who has given up paradise for family reasons too! How did you find ot initially? We fly out in 2 weeks and are quite apprehensive about finding jobs there. We will be settling in the Plymouth area. A couple of questions if thats OK – do you need to do a CPD qualification to get into L&D there or are the Aussie quals respected? We need to network, do you know of any networking groups we could join?
Regards,
Celia
Most popular tools
I have to agree with Adrian, the 2 Authoring tools which seem to crop up the most in job adverts and many blog posts are Articulate Storyline and Adobe Captivate.
There are of course hundres of tools out there.
If you're heading to Plymouth area, (nice part of the country Devon!) then Sponge are a large elearning company based in Plymouth. They often advertise for freelance developers http://www.spongeuk.com/jobs

All the best,
