As part of my CIPD course Stage 2I have to design a 2 day residential programme for 30 students based on the subject of Employee Development. Can anyone recommend excercises or similar to try and make the residential fun as well as useful.

Employee Development – making it fun
I suggest you do some work on learning styles to highlight just how the most fabulous development on paper can fail.
Ask the participants to complete a learning styles questionnaire before they arrive. Then present the topics you would normally cover during the two days using the different learning styles – one per topic.
As the final session, evaluate the course AND explore the correlation between which topic participants preferred and their personal preferred learning style.
