It's live, it's dynamic, it's continuous, it's developmental. It's also amazing how many issues were raised by subscribers in just 45 short minutes at the inaugural workshop just on the specific subject of ROI.
These included:-
- The need to distinguish between basic/technical training and added value training before you can attempt an ROI
- The increasing demands from the business for ROI information
- How do you measure employee performance?
- What is business gap analysis and who should do it?
- Is a 25% ROI in training over 3 years an acceptable return?
- How can £ sign benefits be quantified in the public sector?
- Should we measure the costs of failure?
EvaluationZone is designed to help raise all of these key issues for trainers but it also aims to provide answers. Answers to some of the questions above are already on EvaluationZone: -
- The 3 Box System helps you to distinguish between basic and added value (ROI-able) training
- The ROI formula is given with examples of how to measure it
- There is already a simple employee performance measurement system on the Performance Measurement page.
However, many of the other issues raised do not have quick-fix answers. The answers can only be developed over time. Most subscribers will have to make full use of their annual subscription by regularly visiting and engaging in EvaluationZone before they will develop satisfactory answers to their own toughest questions and problems.
EvaluationZone will provide fuller, better answers but it takes time. My guess is subscribers will only reach an advanced level of proficiency in this subject after one to two years. This sort of service cannot be provided by a free service. Good training and effective learning costs money. The key to EvaluationZone is that it will provide answers and a very high Return on your Investment.
