Over the past two years, "Expat exchange" has been building an online community to help expats share information and advice with their peers around the world. The supportive relationships and wealth of expat-recommended resources that have evolved have led to the creation of a similar forum for the HR and relocation leaders who provide critical support to overseas employees.
Whether this means 3 or 300 expats, HR managers face a similar set of challenges -- they must help each employee and his/her family adjust, both at home and at work, to life overseas. And, there is never enough money in the budget or time in the day, to help everyone -- everywhere in the world.
The home page has links to networks, archives, Q&A articles (from "Pet laws in the Netherlands" to "Sponsorship in Hong Kong") and is entirely free to recent or about-to-be expats from any country - though the site itself is American and therefore weighted to the ex-USA in its major feature articles. It will still be a valuable resource for UK managers.
