I wat to investigate the possibility of government / EU funding for provision of workforce training. Is there a "one-stop shop"?

Sadly because the money comes into the UK regionally and is allocated in accordance with regional priorities there is no centralised point.

You should firstly contact your LSC( learning and skills council) who will tell you about the availability of funds for your project. You will need details on the sort of outcomes in terms of qualifications, number of jobs etc that will be affected by your project.

I have just been involved in obtaining this sort of information in the Northwest for a training provider. We were employed by them to do a risk assessment and the scoring of risk was high. Consider all aspects of the admin with the funding as it is crucial to the success ( and payment) of the project. If you want to discuss it please contact me as I am happy to provide some further pointers.

We agree that it is regionally sensitive and it certainly is administration heavy.

We delivered some training in partnership last year that accessed funding from Government office via ESF and public match.

A lot of the time was spent setting up admin systems and completing paperwork. Our own business model is biased on learning and skill aquisition so it was a culture shock! Not an area we would revisit again lightly.

Having said that the LSC are looking at specific work development funding so if you would like some resources sent to you please email.
