Fusion – Global Learning Summit, 2000 – Glasgow

default-16x9

A major conference on global learning is taking place in Glasgow from 27-29 September 2000. It will be staged at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre and hosted by a consortium of organisations including the Scottish Council for Educational Technology and Glasgow Development Agency.

This is from the introductory blurb:

"Today's knowledge society places ever-increasing demands on its workforce and citizens to embrace the challenges of the Information Age, contributing to an increasing demand and necessity for learning throughout life. Learning providers need to explore new methods of delivery, in particular how to effectively exploit networked communication technologies to reach learners anytime, everywhere. In unleashing this technology for learning, a number of important questions need to be answered. How will it change the relationship between the learner and the educator? What sort of learning is best delivered using technology? What about the absence of face-to-face interaction? Can the skills required by employers be developed in an online learning environment?
These questions and more will be explored by participants at Fusion 2000, addressing the theme of Learning Without Walls from the perspectives of the learner and the educator, the employer and the employee, the parent and the child.

Supporting the interactive nature of this conference will be:
- the learning conference
- the world cafe:
- an innovative networking approach
- the lifelong learning exhibition:
- scotland’s largest ever learning technology show

You can register to be kept informed on the conference website.
