Getting started with online tutoring skills

As online learning takes a more prominent role in the mix of training and learning methods, trainers, coaches and tutors are having to adapt their skills and approaches to embrace this new technology. TrainingZONE has created this online workshop as a way of helping people to think about, and make, the transition. It will both demonstrate some of the new online tutoring methods, and provide a forum in which trainers and others can ask questions and learn new skills.

Amongst the topics to be covered will be:

- what's different about the online learning approach?
- how do you use chat rooms, discussion boards and downloads to create simple online learning mechanisms?
- what special considerations are required when designing an online tutoring programme?
- how can the pitfall be avoided?
- what additional factors need to be taken into account when supporting the learner?
