I work for a large company with customer service representatives in a number of locations around the world. We are looking into the possibility of offering external certification/ accreditation and I wondered if anyone knew of any internationally recognised qualifications in Customer Service, should we decide to go down that route?

Recognised qualification
Hi Sarah, I developed a course in 1998 for an insurance call centre operation based all over the world.
I worked with OCR (the exam body) who, at that time, had an excellent process and staff who developed an academic framework and practical assessment method to suit our business requirements.
They also helped identify funding which helped offset the costs.
The participants attended an internal course with some external speakers, developed their own projects based on their learning, presented business benefits to a steering committee of sponsors and handed in a portfolio of work and were assessed by a professor from Cardiff Business School.
After all this they received their diploma.
In addition to better qualified people this programme which took 18 to complete reduced the turnover rate in team leaders from 40% to around 6% in the same period.
All the best.
Nick

Their materials are quite good and their train-the-trainer course is meant to be very good.
