Taking the classroom experience out of school and transferring it to the workplace. That's classroom training. Depending on your trainer, or facilitator, the class will include a certain level of interactivity. If you are attending a session with delegates from other parts of your business, there could well be an icebreaker element. Oft-maligned by certain factions of the L&D industry, icebreakers can nevertheless be useful in making sure that delegates (and by extension the HR or L&D department) get maximum ROI for their day away from the desk.
