The science of the nervous system. In L&D circles, most neuroscientific discourse focuses on the centre of the nervous system, the brain. Neuroscience is unlucky enough to currently be classed as a buzzword in learning and development. This gives rise to often dated and sometimes even false rhetoric as practitioners scramble to jump on the neuroscience bandwagon. Ideas such as the fact that 'we only use 10% of our brain power' have been discredited as false, through extensive and continuing research. The brain is the most complicated organ in the universe and we are at the start of our journey of discovery.
