Harassement & Bullying

default-16x9

I have been asked to put together a training course for 10 managers that will address the topic of harassment and bullying and equal opportunities as there has been evidence of racial tension within the work force. Does anyone have any exercies or role plays to make the course as interactive as possible

Thanks

  1. Case studies
I have some case studies I have used in the past which are good for debate. Email me if you are interested and I will happily forward them on. Good luck!

  2. Using DVDs/Video
There’s some useful stuff around that you can use to enhance the training and make it more interactive. Everthing from full DVD programmes (http://www.completetrainer.co.uk/DVDs_and_CDs_Training_resources/Bullying_and_harassment – around £1000) to video clips you can use in place of actors (http://www.completetrainer.co.uk/DVDs_and_CDs_Training_resources/Corportate_training_video – less than £200).

I think role play may be difficult in this situation, not only because some people are uncomfy with it but that you might hit on some sensitive areas unwittingly.

There’s some free icebreakers re bullying on http://www.bbclic.com/shaun/icebreakers.html too.

  3. Harassment & Bullying
I have been training out this subject for many years to all levels of Managers. My opinion is that role play does not sit well with Managers and is ineffective. Much better to provide a presentation with working examples and a case study for them to tackle. Encourage lots of questions, and debate. This is the best way to achieve interaction. Also, the course should last no longer than 4 hours.
