Many of us continue to resist what we see as jargon, dressing up simple ideas in supposedly imposing words - such as "facilitation". Still, The FacilitationFactory [yes, one word] could be a useful place to visit.
The creators define it as "a central location for tools and techniques. It allows members to test old and new philosophies and refine their skills."
Inside the Factory, members have access to a Lotus Notes Database that houses "everything needed to facilitate a successful group session". The vision is to have thousands of facilitators working together, sharing ideas and experience, to advance the knowledge of the technique around the world.
Somewhat similar is the area within the Training Supersite where trainers (or of course facilitators) can put questions to a panel of experts. The answers are sent by e-mail, and both question and answer are then posted to the site. "Over time," the developers claim, "this database will become the training industry's most comprehensive free FAQ available."
The database is "full-text-searchable". Enquirers can check whether their immediate question has already been answered . If not, the choice is between "Ask a Question" and "Find an Expert" - or you can apply to become an expert yourself.
