without context this title is too obscure for me to offer any th
"Learning & Developement" as a function/department or a discipline?
Who is "returning"; an individual, an organisation or society as a whole?
Define "secure (economic) environment" please……..

?
Thanks Rus – I think the brief is meant to be a bit vague – the presentation is as part of an interview for a Learning Design post !
Also need more info
I’m with Rus on this.
I accept it may be intended to be vague, but surely you know a little about the sector you are going for? Without such info, I don’t see how anyone will be able to asiat you.
I don’t have a problem with a vague question, it’s the vague inforamtion that is the issue.

L&D secures the future……
Hi – agree a bit vague. However as someone who sets topics such as this I’m going to guess at what might need to be included.
What capabilities need to be built? Relevant to your sector/industry – eg if banking then a focus on risk management etc would not be out of place.
Secondly – a focus ethics and accountability. L&D has an input here, facilitating discussions, creating case studies, using e-learning to reinforce codes of practice etc
Perhaps sustainability of the business model might be relevant as well. Again building learning where various models/approaches can be explored and the implications discussed.
If you illustrate these areas with real world examples then I’m sure that would help.
