Morning,
I have been asked to assess training resource required for a new (yet undefined) project within the business in which I work.
Our business is looking at implementing an online based stock logistics system. Personnel to be trained (I estimate) to be around 100 FTE.
The new system will integrate with a current bespoke back office system.
We are only at initial planning stages, however I am being asked to come up with reccommendations with very little information.
Any thoughts of where to get started, or what information is needed for me to put a plan together (both sizing and to suggest timescales - obvioulsy one will impact the other!) I am happy to go back to the business for more info, only if I am aware of what that info should be.
For some background, I am the only trainer in the business, so far we have relied on SME's which I think could be the way to go with this, however with training support.
Any pointers welcome!
Thanks in advance,

4. when do they need this?
5 how much time can they have to learn this? and in what sized portions?
6 what geographic distribution of people?

9 what downstream impact will there be on the business from the changes in the system (ie managment reporting/support packages/peripherals)
10 when will the system be finalised so we can start producing training material

…and also…
Has the online stock system been identified? or a shortlist?
You may be putting the cart before the horse if not. I would start by talking to a few providers and see what support/training/resources they can offer if you buy their product – what comes with it could make a huge difference to your choice of supplier, and the eventual cost. Also, they should be in a better position than you to estimate the training resources needed. You may be able to bargain on training/support too….

Great points so far
Just one thing I would add, what are the current skill/ knowledge levels that these people have & how do they feel about the change?
