I have been asked to turn our one day off the job induction programme into an e-learning package. This will NOT replace the manager's induction into the job with employee, but will speed up the induction and cut down on travelling .
Does anybody have any experiences they wish to share? I would possible wish their organisations to be identified at some point in order to present a business case quoting current initiatives to my Exec. board.
We are national org. part of NHS.

e-learning inductions – a blended approach
If you already have an induction programme in place, all that really needs to happen is to break down the areas you wish to migrate into e-learning. OK, it’s not just that simple, you’ll need to concider how e-learning will impact the style of training it is delivering, and how far you are going to take the e-learning experience.
You may wish to simply use CBT (Computer Based Training) material, or you may want to use online assessment, and even mentoring. This is a powerful tool you are looking at, and can benifit you in many ways, and reach a dispersed audience quickly.
Planning is essential, as with any new strategy, and it looks as though you already have a good idea of what you want to include. Making sure that some face to face sessions are kept into the programme is an excellent way of implementing a technology based solution, from both a standpoint of not wanting to isolate your people, and making the most of different styles of learning.
If you want to talk through your ideas I would be more than happy to do so.
