Name: Phil FitzGerald
Position: Senior Kenan/BP technical & NLP soft skills trainer for CSG Systems.
How did you get to your current role? My training path followed from University in the head offices of three different clothing retailers. Qualifying in MS Office along with NLP/Enneagram/Spiral Dynamics. I am now in my third year with CSG in London in the above role.
What are the best and worst aspects of your role?
Best: Range of courses, discretion in client management, office location and travel.
Worst: Travel, corporate organisation/lack of.
What is your most over-used phrase? Can I just stop you there?
What is your most hated buzzword? E-learning.
What is the best lesson you have learnt?To be ready on the inside first.
What has been your best career moment so far? Cracking open Eurostar champagne with the team after closing a big Parisiene training deal.
What has been your worst training moment? Being told by a soldier to get off the red carpet at the Harare Sheraton because President Mugabe was coming the other way.
What will be the next big thing for training? Dissemination of accelerated learning methods.
