How do you integrate your new employees?

default-16x9

The new employee needs to feel they have made the right choice when they join a new company or organisation. How do you help them feel this way. How do you introduce them to the company? What follow-up process do you use after their induction?
I am working on a project that is to help integrate the new employee into the organisation. I need to know if there are any good books, readings, and literature on the subject.

  3. Induction
We use a structured Induction Plan, with a detailed checklist which the new postholder manages themselves from Day One, with the support of their line manager and our HR person. The plan is time-bound, and covers legal, environmental, practical, job-related and orientational aspects of settling in/familiarising themselves. We work on the assumption that it is a 3 – 6 month process.
Let me know if you would like to see a copy.
