I'm completing a review of the training / development activity that has been undertaken over the last 12 months in my organisation. As part of this I've calculate the average number of hours of development invested in each employee to understand where our peeks and troughs are.
It would be extremely useful to know if there are there any industry standards or recommendations from other organisations around how many hours of investment (per year) should be made? Is this is a something considered at all? Or do we set a standard for specific a population such as new staff (fewer 12 months service) for example?
We currently provide a budget per person so should we be considering a guideline amount of time?
