How often do you use the F word?

Before the Olympic fever cools I wanted to share with you how FOCUS can dramatically improve your training business. Why don’t we mere mortals take a leaf out of those outstanding athletes’ books and turn our attention to how often we practise the kind of focus that creates the outcomes we want? We can apply this professionally, in our training businesses and in our wider lives.

I believe there are 3 focal points and from my experience these help me to get the success, fulfilment and outcomes I want in my various training businesses.

Focal Point Number 1: What do you want from your training business?

There are 4 questions I always challenge my audience with at the beginning of my regular ‘Accelerate Profits’ workshop for trainers:

Who here is running a hobby business?

Who here is running a lifestyle business?

Who here is running a commercial training business?

And who here would like to get extraordinary benefit and grow their training business by 100% in the next 12 months?

Whatever the answer, you need to be very focussed on the vision you have. Declare what you want, be very specific about it and ensure that this becomes your focus every single day.

Focal Point Number 2: Why do you want to achieve that from your training business?

Focus clearly on all the reasons you want to achieve these business goals. We all do things for different reasons. Those of you who have attended my training marketing events will understand why I do what I do and what I want to achieve. The one thing we must have in common though is FOCUS. In other words why do we want what we want?

Focal Point Number 3: How will you feel when you achieve those goals in your training business?

If you can’t feel it, it probably won’t happen. We want what we want because of how we will feel when we achieve it so this must also be the subject of our focus. Focus on how we will feel, not just what and why. Can you feel it now?

In my training business I focus on feeling the success and the financial independence I will have and most importantly who and how I can help when I reach those goals.

So focus works for me and many of my clients. Use that F word more often and you’ll find it works for you too.
