How To Present Your Learning Strategy

default-16x9

After you have finished your strategy how do you present it?

This was partly discussed in my previous post, and there are a variety of ways you can present your learning strategy, but it's best to present it using a format that is user-friendly and easy to read. No manager is going to read a ten page document. In fact I doubt if they will really read anything beyond a three page document.

One way to present a learning strategy after you have used the Six Strategy Questions framework is to use a format I created called the Learning Strategy Canvas. The Learning Strategy Canvas is a template which has space for answering all six questions on a single sheet. The challenge is to keep your answers to each of the six questions brief so you can keep them on a single page.

A sheet can be used for each strategic priority. So if the L&D team identifies three strategic priorities they want to support with learning, they can use three sheets to produce a quick learning strategy document. This can also be used on presentation software such as PowerPoint, Office Libre or |Google Slides. You can even use it on a mobile app such as OfficeSuite on Android and Apple's IOS.

Below is a sample of the template with the six strategy questions. In my next post I will show an example of how to use the Learning Strategy Canvas to document information for a learning strategy.
