HSE publishes web-based guide to measuring H&S performance

default-16x9

HSE has produced a web-based guide to measuring health & safety performance. The guide is aimed at those organisations that understand the principles of health and safety management and wish to improve their existing approach to measuring health and safety performance. Click here for the guide

Dr Norman Byrom from HSE's Operations Unit which produced the guide said: "We have developed the existing guidance in HSG 65 Successful Health & Safety Management to produce a framework for organisations to consider how to measure their health and safety performance in a way which goes beyond relying on injury and ill health data alone.

Measuring health and safety performance is a complex subject and we recognise that the guide needs to be developed further, particularly by providing examples of good practice. The web allows us to share our emerging views and get feedback to improve the guide in a way which is not easily done through the conventional HSE publications route. It also allows us to provide links with other web-based documents. We would welcome feedback on the guide and ways it might be developed."
