Human Resource Development in Europe

default-16x9

A new European research resource base, EHRD Base, has been established to offer high-quality information on human resource development in Europe. It is part of an accompanying measure (AM) related to a cluster of European Union (EU) research projects. The AM, co-ordinated by the Berlin-based Research Forum WIFO, is supported under the Key Action Improving the Socio-economic Knowledge Base of the Fifth Framework Programme of the European Commission.

The EHRD Base is being developed in collaboration with a network of European experts in human resource development. This network involves experts from EU projects and their partnerships, related organisations concerned with HRD, and various target groups of the AM. The EHRD Base has a modular structure, covering a broad field of human resource development and its European perspective. Selected descriptors are used for identifying and retrieving individual resources in the base.

Also associated with the EHRD Network is a directory of experts: Who's who in European HRD. The directory is intended to facilitate collaboration among the Network and to present these experts to a wider public. For first-hand information and contact, a list of experts in key positions related to professional work on HRD in Europe has been compiled. More extended overviews are provided which present experts arranged by areas of research.

Full details are included in the alphabetical directory of experts available online at www.b.shuttle.de/wifo/ehrd-who/=index.htm.
