I would like to go freelance / set-up my own training centre

default-16x9

Hello!

I am currently considering to dump my employee status for a self-employed one. However I really would like the feedback of people who have done it, how did they finance their start-up, how long did it take you before generating a decent living, your dos and dont's and your tips of the trade...

Many thanx for your input,

Natalie

  1. Going freelance – The Consultants’ Network
The Consultants’ Network is a network of 250 plus freelance consultants, all with different backgrounds – if you can tell me a bit about yourself I can put you in touch with someone, alternitively give me a ring 01908 565574 Nigel Wyatt Magenta Financial Training.

Start small and live within your means. I wouldn’t start a ‘centre’ unless you enjoy spending your time on property maintainance and catering.

The trick is to line up business before you jump. Get a couple of regular contracts (probably sub contracts to start with) booked so you have that base line income.

Avoid big investments, advertising, offices, etc. When you are busy and rich you will be able to afford them. When you are starting up keep focused on clients, not on your infrastructure.

If you want to talk to people who have made the jump I am networked with a number and will gladly share contacts and experiences.

    Natalie,

I’m going to take a wild stab in the dark here and ask you a question based on your surname – do you by any chance have a French background.

If yes, and your French is fluent, it would be a major asset to you. As of course would any other languages that you are fluent enough to train in.

Might I suggest that you give me a call urgently on how you could put this to your advantage.

I look forward to hearing from you very soon,
