I have a CIPD Certificate in Training Practice and 5 years experience in IT Training.
Does anyone have any ideas on what training course I could embark upon that would help me gain employment in the outside world?

Try something new
Why not use this opportunity to break into something new?
For example:

Then you can add your training skills to your new knowledge to train in a new area.
IT training
HI Carla
If you already have your CITP and have been and IT trainer then you should be well equipped for the outside world as IT trainers are very popular. However if you are being offered additional training it might be worth thinking about what you want to progress in most. This could be further IT training (certification? specialist areas) if you search the job sites for adverts see what people are looking for IT training wise and add that to your portfolio.
Or if you think you want to progress your training skills more you could look to some of the vocational training courses that could give you an NVQ for example – there are a number available in learning and development.
