Firstly I recommend you do just that…consider it. Ask yourself why you want to do it? What’s in it for you? What are the potential rewards? What are the downsides? Where might it lead? Where do you want to go with it?

You could then post your responses and ask if it will deliver them for you.

    Hi

TrainingZone itself has some excellent resources, such as “How to: begin your career as a trainer” available from https://www.trainingzone.co.uk/cgi-bin/library.cgi?action=detail&id=1600&dir_publisher_varid=44

Visit https://www.trainingzone.co.uk/news/expertguides/ for a good range of helpful advice.

There will be differences if you want to go freelance or if you want to work for a corporate. Having only done freelance, I will leave others to comment on the corporate end of training.

With your background in marketing, you will appreciate the need to evaluate your ‘product offering’ (skills, background, experience, etc) against what the market needs and is willing to pay for.

Here, having a good network is essential to help you get a feel for what is going on. I have found people very helpful and willing to share tips (provided you are not a direct competitor).

There are plenty of networking groups, breakfast clubs, business gatherings and so on available for you to tap into to make people aware of your services, and talking to business links and the Small Business Service can be helpful too.

Feel free to contact me if you need more info.
