I need to demonstrate to managers the importance of getting things right from the first moment a new starter joins their team. So, I'm looking for a practical activity that can be done in groups that will go wrong UNLESS you get the first 'step' absolutely right. The point I want to make is if you don't start right, you'll spend the rest of the activity (career) trying to sort it out!

Bearing in mind that something like 30% of people who quit within a year cite poor reality in relation to the recruitment process as a cause for leaving.
