Information, Advice and Guidance for Adults

default-16x9

The government has published a discussion paper setting out its objectives in promoting an enhanced service of local information, advice and guidance (IAG) for adult learners and potential learners throughout England. This parallels the fast developing adult guidance initiatives which are already well established throughout Scotland.

The proposals seek to establish strong local partnerships throughout the country for the development and improvement of services.

The document creates a new acronym in IAG which we will all need to get used to!

A range of different services are envisaged from April 1999. Although there is no wish to establish a uniform model, there will be quality standards for all the services which develop.

A copy of the full consultation report is available for download in PDF format and all the key aspects are can be viewed on the indexed webpages. There is a response page for comments which should be received by 12 February.
