Hi All,
Training Zone is great, and I visit it daily for info on our sector. Is there anything like Training zone that focuses on innovations in the training sector? New technologies, concepts, and so on. I'm thinking the Gadget Show (Channel 5) for the training sector.
Any ideas?

Innovations in Training Sector
Hi Russell,

innovation, performance or both
Hi Russell
and much like 99% of what you see on the gadget show it does not make it mainstream and its niche.
Much like transport in almost 100 years nothing has beaten the car – so it is with training. The basics work well – when deployed well.
This means understanding human psychology and learning – we as humans have not evolved much over the last 2000+ years – why do we as L&D people think that humans evolve at the speed of technology.
Sure we need to continue to look at new tools – and virtual classrooms etc are some of those technology based tool!
If for example you look at psychometric type instruments two – 16PF & MBTI are the parents of over 90% of those on the market (look at the tools validity & test data!) – so why use others unless you are looking at smoke & mirrors?
The sooner L&D professionals stop looking for the "new new toy" and really understand the problems business are facing and we solve those problems in a practical and efficient way – the better for us all.
Thank you
Thanks for the reply. I’ve linked to C4LPT Facebook page so look forward to hearing some interesting things from there.
Mike thanks for the reply also and i understand your point, BUT I firmly believe that there wouldnt ever be any progress without people pushing the boundaries of whats possible and whats being used in any industry. We used to ride around on horses, but now use cars because someone was daring enough to suggest it and build one.
Cheers both
