Insight: Learning and development experts embrace the Cloud

heart_cloud

Almost all learning and development (L&D) practitioners will use the Cloud to some extent by the end of 2015, according to a survey by the World of Learning Conference & Exhibition.
Only 9.3% of L&D experts surveyed said they would not use the Cloud in any aspect of their work in three years time. Over a third (40.7%) plan to make full use of the technology, confirming the Cloud will be fully integrated into their strategy. Likewise, 16.3% of respondents agreed that it will form a vital part of their L&D toolkit.
Andrew Gee, Senior Project Manager at Venture Marketing Group, the organisers of the World of Learning Conference & Exhibition, comments on the survey:
“The results are a good indicator of the importance that technology, such as the Cloud, continues to play in L&D.  To ensure cloud strategies are developed and executed effectively, L&D professionals will need to ensure they invest in technology facilities as well as workforce training.”
Conrad Hamer, business development manager at Jenison, adds:
“The Cloud is very important to L&D professionals both today and in the foreseeable future. However, those in the industry need to understand the barriers to Cloud solutions and how to address them in order to get the most from this new technology.”
