Intel reduce processor prices

default-16x9

Intel have recently reduced their prices on the desktop Pentium III and Celeron processors by around a third of the original cost. The reason given is that they appear to be preparing for the launch of their faster 1.4Ghz Pentium 4 processor.

Their 1Ghz Pentium III processor will be reduced by around 31%, while the 933Mhz Pentium III will drop by around 32%. A 33% discount will be makde on the 866Mhz version. Intel state that these are regular price adjustments and that they often cut their prices as they move towards introducing their faster processors.

The cost however, for mobile Pentium III processors were unchanged. This should be good news for companies selling PC's as this will reduce the price of those systems that contain Intel processors.
