Is it OK to be hypnotised to improve my work performance?

default-16x9

I’m always amazed at the reaction of people (not HR and Training People, but very probably our clients and customers!) to articles like this in the Guardian today.

We know that it’s probably training based on cognitive principles (NLP….?), rather than actual cognitive hypnotherapy, that the guy is being sent on.  But it looks like a lot of other people are just as worried about it as he is….I guess the photo doesn’t help!

I think we (the HR and Training world) need to communicate what we do much more clearly, especially to the people we’re supposed to be helping!
