IT salaries in the US drop while the UK struggles to fill vacancies

While research in North America is predicting a drop in salaries IT staff, salaries in the UK are expected to be maintained as the country struggles to fill vacancies.

In response to the skills shortage, the government has launched the Skills Framework for the Information Age (SFIA) which provides standard job descriptions for employers and recruiters. The Skills Framework should alleviate some of the problems cause by the confusing – and increasing – range of job titles. nd David Blunkett the new Home Secretary is proposing a new ‘green card’ system enabling immigrants to settle in the UK if they have IT skills.
