Jobseekers look for training opportunities from potential employers

Research by Investors in People UK suggests that the offer of training and development is a crucial inducement to jobseekers.

The survey questioned graduates involved in career planning. Responses included:

- 93 per cent believe it is important to join an organisation which demonstrates a commitment to its people through a dedicated focus on training and development

- two-thirds say training and development is one of the two most important factors they will consider when choosing an employer

- more than 60 per cent do not rank salary as significant

- only 11 per cent are concerned about job title.

- only 6 per cent feel their productivity would be enhanced by a big bonus

- over half (53%) consider that training and development will increase their productivity levels

- support from team and senior management is key to 35 per cent
