Knowledge management

default-16x9

Has anyone got any experience of setting up of knowledge management communities of practice, ie sharuing best practice in small groups at a local, regional, national or international level. I work in a highly regulated, process production environment, that has suffered a high rate of attrition for the last 12 months (mainly due to paching by the oil industry boys!!), and need to share technical knowledge across operating teams, a technician level especially. Im aware shell do this but dont know any details.

  1. Hi Kevin,

This is something we're exploring at Brightwave through our total learning system tessello, mixing formal learning courses with informal learner-led resources, plus a social learning platform and Learning Record Store.

We're finding this blend works really well with specialist communities of practice, who use it to share up-to-the minute knowledge (sourced by experts and from within the community itself), collaborate on projects, and engage with one supported by social and gamified functionality – we've found the latter points especially help to embed individuals within the team and maintain high levels of active involvement.

There's more info on this plus a couple of case studies here – hope this helps, but feel free to contact me directly if you have any more questions.

    Rob K
