Last month Microsoft decided not to go ahead with original plans to scrape the Windows NT4 track, forcing IT professionals to sit the Windows 2000 test before 31 December in order to retain their MCSE qualification. Microsoft have now extended the deadline to May 1 2002 in order to qualify for a premium certification MCT 2002. Microsoft stated that the decision was based on “requests from MCTs and Microsoft CTECs who have asked for more time”.
