Latest New Deal uptake figures

Latest figures from the DfEE show that to the end of December, the New Deal had helped 185,250 unemployed people back into work - three-quarters of the way to the manifesto target of a quarter million.
  
The Government Statistical Service figures also show that over 120,900 young people have been helped with education, training or job experience:

* 64,700 in Full Time Education and Training;
* 26,500 on the Voluntary Sector Option;
* 25,400 on the Environment Task Force.
