Learning at Work Day is nearly upon us (Thursday 25th May), and in case you've yet to fix your learning activities for the day, here's a few suggestions from the Campaign for Learning:
- Allow staff some time during the day to learn anything they want - maybe by providing access to the internet as a learning resource
- Add an agenda item to team meetings for team leaders to review what team members have learnt since the last meeting (maybe a good idea is to start with staff feeding back from training sessions they've attended)
- Arrange a job swap with a difference by letting junior employees shadow a manager - totaljobs.com can provide guidance on how to set this up
- Help staff to understand how they learn by setting up a session on diagnosing learning styles for everyone - use the learning styles questionnaire as a starting point
Contact your local TEC to find out more about Individual Learning Accounts for staff to invest in
There's also the opportunity to extend these activities for the whole week (and maybe add to them), as Adult Learners Week begins on Sunday. We hope to report on what a number of companies are doing over the course of next week.
