LearningWire #187 – Training Trends 2002, influencing support materials, ILA enquiry…

TrainingZONE LearningWIRE - Issue 187
21 January 2002

.....Brand-new survey - Training Trends 2002...influencing
support materials...enquiry ordered into events....

Editor's note

This time last year, TrainingZONE launched its first ever survey
into the current state of training in the workplace. Training
Trends 2001 duly revealed that online learning and coaching were
experiencing an upsurge, while classroom-based training remained
at the core of training delivery. The 400 training professionals
who responded also told us companies they worked in were
increasingly likely to incorporate training into regular staff
reviews, but that very few were carrying out any in-depth post-
learning evaluation.

A year on, and we're revisiting the study to find out what's
changed. Has the way you deliver training changed significantly
in the last 12 months? Are some training methods more successful
than others? Contribute your vote by completing our
questionnaire now, and you'll receive a copy of the results when
they're published. To take part, go to

Influencing is a key skill in today's workplace, yet it can be
difficult to clarify. Dr Richard Hale has put together a series
of documents designed to help individuals define and develop
their influencing style. One of the useful tools for coaching
activities, a self-assessment questionnaire can be found at

A selection of other documents in the series:

Making an impact on others

Preparation and Influence

Body Language and Influence
