‘Life skills’

default-16x9

I am working with a client and am about to embark on a programme with some of their young people on the essential skills needed to succeed in the workplace e.g. personal effectiveness, professional behaviour, personal image & attitude etc etc.
Does anyone know of a source of materials to make sure this is lively & relevant ?

  1. Springboard workbook
This women’s development workbook by Liz Willis & Jenny Daisley (Hawthorn Press) should give lots of ideas in down to earth language. There is also a Group Leader’s guide available from accredited Springboard trainers. I have a 1993 edition of the book, but if it is out of print it is bound to be in the public libary.

  2. developing young people
Hi Karin, The Pacific Institute (TPI) is an international organisation with a variety of programmes. Two which we have used in our organisation are: The Pathway to Excellence programme (for 16 to 21 year olds) and Breakthrough (for 13 to 17 year olds). They are motivational and build on self esteem and goal setting (and good fun!)
