Lifelong Learning Partnerships

default-16x9

Learning Partnerships are being established throughout England to improve the planning and coherence of local post-16 learning. They will support action to widen participation in learning, increase attainment, improve standards and meet the skills challenge, and will contribute to the Government's social inclusion and regeneration agendas. Specifically they will develop local learning targets linked to the new National Learning Targets. They will co-ordinate local action in such a way as to create a more coherent, effective and accessible set of local arrangements for lifelong learning, careers advice and guidance, and student support, linking in with the social inclusion agenda in schools.

Further education colleges, careers service companies, Training and Enterprise Councils, local authorities and schools, and a wide range of other local organisations and employers, as appropriate to each local area, are involved in the Partnerships.
