I have recently started a new job and have inherited an LMS (virtual training) that is about to be rolled out. I would be really grateful for any advice/experience that anyone has on implementation and roll out. We are rolling out across several countries.
any lessons learned presentations would be particularly useful. my email is richard.rogers@avis-europe.com
many thanks

LMS implementation….don’t
Richard – DON’T !
Rather than launch an LMS launch the benefits, the content – best if you can launch access to specific content to specific groups.
End users are interested in how learning can solve their problems or give them skills they did not have before – they are not interested in another computer system to drive their life.
Your LMS provider should be able to put you in contact with other users of their system – find out what they have done to be successful.
I have advised (internally) several companies on the rollout of LMS’s and the rollout is always a lot slower then the vendors claim, usage is generally a lot lower – so focus on the content not the system.

elearning rollout material
Hi again Roger!
I may be able to help you with some good reference material here, we have some useful white papers on e-learning implementation, change management, learner motivation, learning mgt systems, etc, that will help you get to grips with the technical and human aspects of your lms and elearning rollouts. There are 3 or 4 that I think will be of particular interest so I’ll get these sent out to you, but take a look at our full list and contact me if you want any others…
