We have a range of unqiue personal development workbooks, developed for individual use or as support material for workshops. We currently market them as hardcopy or PDF format via a company website - yet interest is not as high as expected - any advise on how to increase the profile of this cost effective training resource?

Why not contact your local Chamber of Commerce and/or Business Link to see if they have some ideas (for free). You could contact local training companies, trainer groups or the local branch of the CIPD to see if they can assist. You may like to look at http://www.trainerbase.co.uk or go along to some local business networking groups to promote what you have. Just a few ideas!

There could be 2 distinct issues (assuming the product is OK)
a) not enough visitors to the website in the first place – you need to develop promotional activities to drive people to the site and run email campaigns with hyperlinks to “take the site to them”.
b) not enough visitors when in the site buying – if they are exiting too early you need to look at the site structure so they can reach your wookbooks sooner and also make them a compelling offer.
Careful study of the website stats / analytics should tell you which it is.
marketing strategy
Firstly, I’d want to know why you developed them in the first place – what were the drivers? was there a market demand you spotted – if these are still valid you should revisit them in a ‘back to basics’ way.
Secondly – its all about promotion – using multiple methods – email, direct mail, word of mouth, PR, advertising, web etc etc – the more the merrier !!
Finally – think about recruiting ‘power users’ as a field sales force or channel marketers for you – perhaps on a commission only basis
