I am looking at putting together a training workshop for senior managers who may go on secondment to other public sector organisations as a consultant and wondered whether anyone knew of any good resources I could look at for this.
I've had a look at the usual providers (eg Fenman, CIPD, Video Arts) but couldn't find any resources directly related to consultancy skills.
Any suggestions would be welcome,
Thanks,
Derek

Consulting skills
Hi Derek
is it the process or interpersonal aspect of a consultant role that you need to find resource for?

Consultancy Materials
Take a look at http://www.toojays.co.uk/library/personal_development_workbooks/104.consultancy_skills.html
Material can be used as course handout/supplement or you can (as we have) use the content directly for a workshop.
hope that helps

Lee
Both are needed
Hi Joy,
I am interested in resources that cover either element of the process of consultancy or the key skills needed.
Thanks,
Derek
consultant as expert advisor or consultant as facilitator?
Hi Derek
Is there going to be any attempt to set a “model” for them to all follow; are they expert advisors or are they their to facilitate the development of bespoke in house solutions? (In cynical parlance are they seagulls of watch-borrowers?)
This may seem like a semantic question but there is a significant difference in approach, skills and “liability”
