This video is one of many distributed by Gower in a series of practical videos designed for management self development. They are all short videos of between 10 and 15 minutes each – with techniques, advice and ideas on some key areas of their job.

If you are looking for a short basic introduction to mentoring then you won't go far wrong with this video. The video uses a formal discussion format between psychologists Eve Ash & Peter Quarry and although at times it feels a little staged and sterile it does cover all the key points at a simple overview level. Key points are emphasised further by displaying them on screen at the right time, a useful prompt if you are taking notes.

Overall a useful insight but not for someone wanting to delve into the depths of 'Mentoring'.
