Microsoft Office XP - Latest Release News

The Beta Preview Version of Microsoft's latest Office addition, named XP (the XP stands for Expert) for Businesses was released earlier in March, so when will it be on sale to the UK public? The latest news reported is from David Bennie, Product Marketing Manager for Office XP at Microsoft UK, who said the launch date and pricing will be announced on 2 April, and indicated a May release date. Mr Bennie went on to say ’The delay between release to manufacture and availability in the shops, or through other channels, is due to logistical problems in coordinating a single worldwide launch. With our software manufacturing plant in Ireland we could launch here two or three weeks before the US, but we want one simultaneous launch’.

Microsoft's description of Office XP reads: -

'Microsoft Office XP redefines the relationship between people and software by delivering a new set of experiences that provide a smarter way of working. Office XP delivers a personal experience, simplifying the way you work; a collaborative experience, helping your team work easily together; and an extended experience, enabling you to continually integrate additional services into Office and access information anytime.'
