‘Minimum Income Guarantee is not enough to live on’ says pensions minister

default-16x9

The Electronic Telegraph is today reporting the story that pensions minister Jeff Rooker has said that the Minimum Income Guarantee is not enough to get by on, but that there are no plans to increase the basic state pension of £67.50.

The comments however are a further indication that the labour government - under increasing pressure for action on pensions - is starting to take notice of disquiet amongst pensioners at the low increase in state benefits.
