I am undertaking some research before embarking on a new modern apprentice programme for my organisation.
I am a novice and wondered if members could help me on a few counts:
1. Experience... what wouldn't you do that you have done in implementing FMA / AMA?
2. Advice... any offers of?
3. Policy, practice and guidance. Do you have examples of any policy documents you may have on developing young people?
Please help, I've got a contact at my local LSC but would like to have some info before I see them - to be clear in my own mind the benefits and potential pitfalls for a large housing organisation.

Modern apprenticeships
I have a lot of experience of modern apprenticeship programmes having being involved in running these for the last 12 + years.
Happy to talk to you about my experiences. There is a knack to doing this effectively within organisations.
MA: FMA: AMAs
Have been running MA programmes since YTS finished – primarily within the office environment, but later in the retail stores in the UK. When the format changed we went on with FMA and AMA programmes.
It has given some real “no-hopers” the opportunity to do something that they were unable to do at school – succeed! They have achieved a relevant nationally recognised qualification and been paid at the same time. As Leah says, there is a knack to doing it and it takes time to find a training provider (unless you are going it alone), who will deliver what you want for your guys. Remember that one size does not fit all and usually these programmes can be tailored to suit the learning styles of the individuals in a way that formal education can not. Pleased to discuss further if you wish.
